Macquarie Institute is a learning, training, coaching and enabling organisation dedicated to raising the quality of life through teaching and disseminating innovative approaches, skills and methodologies to help people in their daily lives.

The organisation has come from the work of many individuals -- visionaries in their fields who have in the past and up to today believed that a learning organisation should be able to make a difference and focus on what is most vital to people.

Founded in 1989 and incorporated in 1996 Macquarie is today one of the leaders in the study and provision of innovation and innovative approaches in the region.

 

About HeartMath^® in Australia New Zealand and the Pacific

As a licensee of HeartMath in Australia, the Macquarie Institute was chosen to launch the HeartMath System in the year 2000 to audiences around Australia numbering in the thousands. Since then we have been nurturing and assisting this valuable set of insights, techniques and technologies collectively known as the HeartMath system to be made accessible to individuals, professionals and organizations across the Asia Pacific region. In the first year and the years following we trained and accredited thousands of people and bringing HeartMath into organizations, schools, hospitals and associations of many types.

HeartMath has collectively reached and touched the hearts and minds of thousands of people around the world in the first decade of the 21st century. More than ever today HeartMath and the emWave^® technology have an important role to play to help balance, enrich and empower the experience of people and their lives. The vision of the HeartMath founders of balanced heart-centric people and leaders living heart-based lives resonates with so many people today and is still at the core of Macquarie's mission also. Today we communicate with and support a network of coaches, trainers and representatives across the region who help represent Macquarie's and HeartMath's mission to educate about the HeartMath Experience, the HeartMath Techniques supporting balanced heart-based living that is realizable for everyone.

 

Macquarie Institute is the Licensee company for Australia and New Zealand of the HeartMath LLC organisation headquartered in North America.

The company in Australia and New Zealand is independently owned and is a member of the international group of HeartMath Licensees. The HeartMath global network includes licensee companies in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Netherlands, France, China, Australia/NZ and the global headquarters in USA.

Since 2001, the Macquarie Institute organisation have provided a wide range of HeartMath programs and services to organisations and individuals across the region including to families, the private sector, government, education and health sectors. We have proven the benefits, efficacy and popularity of the HeartMath system and products to people and organisations in this region, and have gained a significant number of clients.

Below is a brief outline of key people behind the founding and operating today of the originating HeartMath research and consulting organisation (in 1991) situated south of Silicon Valley, California.

Doc Childre, Founder, Chairman, HeartMath LLC
Doc Childre is the founder of HeartMath and a global authority on optimising human performance and personal effectiveness.

In 1991 Childre founded the non-profit Institute of HeartMath (IHM) to research the effects of mental and emotional stress on the heart, brain and nervous system. He assembled a talented team of scientists, educators and business people who, with passion and commitment, dedicated themselves to practicing and refining new skills to improve health, learning, performance and well-being. IHM's clinical research, published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as case studies with Fortune 500 companies, governmental and police organisations, hospitals, clinics and schools using the HeartMath(r) techniques and tools, resulted in the highly acclaimed HeartMath System.

HeartMath is now three organisations with highly complementary missions: The Institute of HeartMath (IHM) is a nonprofit research and education organisation which conducts leading-edge research and supports educational initiatives to enhance academic and emotional learning. HeartMath, LLC (founded in 1997) is a for profit training and consulting organisation that provides a range of powerful programs, products and services for business, government, health care and individuals on a global scale. Deborah Rozman, Ph.D., President and co-CEO of Quantum Intech, Inc. & CEO HeartMath, LLC
Deborah has thirty years of experience as a business executive, serial entrepreneur, psychologist, author and educator. Since 1990, she was founding executive director of the non-profit Institute of HeartMath, executive vice president of HeartMath LLC, then founding director and President and co-CEO with Doc Childre of Quantum Intech (parent company of HeartMath LLC). Prior to her work at HeartMath she was EVP of Biogenics, Inc., a biotech firm, from 1981 to 1987 and managed 90 employees through the company's rapid growth, going from $3 million in sales to $17 million in nine months. She is also a co-author with Doc Childre of HeartMath's Transforming Series: Transforming Stress, Transforming Anxiety, Transforming Anger and Transforming Depression, and a key spokesperson on HeartMath, heart intelligence, stress in these changing times and heart-based living.

Dr. Rozman is a key spokesperson for the HeartMath system, giving media interviews and keynote addresses on heart intelligence and intui-technologies for executives, scientists and health professionals throughout the world. Howard Martin, Executive VP, Strategic Development, HeartMath LLC Howard Martin brings more than 35 years of experience in business and personal development to the position of Executive Vice President, Strategic Development. Howard's responsibilities include global alliances, marketing and program and product development. Howard has been instrumental in assisting Doc Childre in the development and teaching of HeartMath's programs since its inception. Howard Martin, Executive VP, Strategic Development HM LLC
Howard is co-author with Doc Childre of The HeartMath Solution, published in 2000 by Harper San Francisco. He also developed Nightingale-Conant's tape series, The HeartMath Method.

Howard is a dynamic speaker, and has delivered workshops and keynote addresses over the last two decades to audiences ranging from corporations, to the armed forces, to educators, families, and human service providers. As a key spokesperson for HeartMath, he has conducted hundreds of media interviews. His appearances include CNN Headline News, U.P.I. Chris Jacob, VP, Finance/COO HeartMath LLC
Chris Jacob is a businesswoman, teacher, and speaker. As Vice President of Finance and Chief Operating Officer of HeartMath LLC, she is an active participant in the development of strategic plans, managing operational processes, and overseeing human resources and staff development. Her duties include financial reporting, government compliance, risk management, database management, and financing.

Ms. Jacob graduated with honors in Mathematics and French at Louisiana State University. She has eleven years of institutional teaching experience, including Louisiana State University and Tougaloo College in Jackson, Mississippi.

In 1980 she moved to California, where she became a partner in Planetary Publications, currently the publishing division of HMLLC. She began extensive training in accounting, computer programming, and data processing management and has served as Chief Financial Officer for Planetary Publications since 1987. In 1991, when Doc Childre founded the Institute of HeartMath, Chris served as its controller. She continued in this role until 1997 when HeartMath LLC was established as a separate entity and she became its CFO.

Chris has also delivered HeartMath programs throughout the United States and Canada on conflict resolution, empowerment and stress management for businesses and schools.
